Which light model should I choose?
Navisafes portable navigation lights are available in three different versions: white, red, and tricolor (red, green, white). Before choosing, find out the regulations that apply to lanterns for your specific boat. Comply with the rules for lighting at sea and invest in a portable navigation light to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
How do I take care of my portable navigation light?
By following these simple care instructions, you can extend the life of your Navisafe portable navigation light.
Storage
- You should store the light in a dry place. Avoid storing it outdoors all year round, as condensation can form and damage the electronics.
- Store the light in a dark storage when not in use for long periods of time. Exposure to UV light can damage the rubber on/off button, causing it to become stiff.
- Take the batteries out when you are storing your light. Your batteries stand a better chance of lasting longer if you remove them from your Navisafe and store them separately. It will also prevent damage to your device if the batteries leak or corrode.
Cleaning
Clean the light with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh detergents or solvents.
How do I replace the batteries?
When the batteries no longer work, follow these steps:
- Unscrew the upper part of the light.
- Replace the batteries with new ones of the correct type (3 x AAA alkaline batteries).
- Screw the light back together.
- Make sure to close/screw it completely, all the way so that it is sealed and cannot take in water.
- The two small white arrows on the upper part of the light and the arrows on the lower part of the lantern should meet when the light is closed correctly.
Remember to replace the batteries at least once a year.
